It Is Our Children Of Today That Will Be Leading Our Horses Of Tomorrow
This page is dedicated to all children and kids at heart that love horses!VFTH is dedicated to children that have horses in their lives and others that can only dream of them, as their lifestyles do not permit them to actively participate in this partnership and sport. We hope you enjoy this page and if you are one of those like me, a kid at heart we welcome you too, to learn and be a student of the children of today that will be leading our horses of tomorrow.

Mischief shares time with Quinn ~ no longer frightened and scared of the horses he has become friends with them.
On March 23, 2011 I had the pleasure of inviting my brother and his wife and their son Quinn over for dinner and for a visit with Angel and Mischief. Quinn's twin brother Demitri was not able to attend as he was playing in a hockey tournament . Although 17 years of age, Quinn did not fair quite so lucky to be as independent like his brother; both children were fostered by my brother and his wife around the age of two. Both were affected with FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome,) ADD (Attention Deficit Syndrome) and Quinn, unlike his brother is autistic. All was noted at a very young age and I can only image what it would be like to have these two special children to raise throughout the rest of their live. Quinn and Demitri were adopted years ago so truly are family with their other two siblings Kimberley and Jonathan.
November 17, 2010 ~ Voice For The Horse received an email in regards to a mother who witnesses her child falling madly in love with VFTH Mascot Angel through web site photos. She was so shocked at the response of her daughter Kaitlyn that she had to write and share this with us and we thank her for this. Kaitlyn apparently could not stop "petting the screen where Angel's soft nose appears under" saying how much she loved her. Our hearts were touched as obvious was Kaitlyn's too from this experience. We understand at VFTH how this can happen and will comment to say that this is what we classify as a success for Voice For The Horse. Children such as Kaitlyn, although never having personally met a horse, who tells the tale better than anyone could, how it is horses touch OUR hearts and how they lovingly affect our energy. Thank You Kaitlyn!!

"My dad once told me that those who write down their goals on paperare the ones who will make them come true. Visualization and imagination are key to reaching your goals. If you dream it and picture it first, anything is possible. I believe that if we visualize and work towards the mass end of the ruthless slaughter of our companion animal, the horse, this dream will come true.” Tiffany Desrosiers ~ Singer Songwriter / Artist

In mid February 2010, I was visiting Mischief and Angel up at Mackenzie Meadows. I had Angel in the round pen working her a little bit but didn’t get very far with her. Not that she was not being a good girl, it is just that I could not read her body energy as she would have liked. Lyla came by and watched for a bit and suggested trying a couple of different things with her and before I knew it Little Lyla, all of 12 years of age was competently doing ground work with her. Angel learned her lesson that day the right way in short order, no big deal, while under the directive of Lyla! Well I didn’t make any bones about getting student number two in; Mischief and the rambunctious little thing he was! Once again Lyla worked with him and had his cooperation within a few minutes after displaying an overabundance of lively energy. The seed was planted this day for the Kids Corner Project. Here I was, a horse owner of 20 years and had never been taught some of these very basic horsemanship skills. I was impressed to say the least and knew this was a program that VFTH needed to initiate.

My third ride out ever with Angel ~ I look forward to many more rides like this, we experienced the roads and trails together no problem!

By ~ Lyla Mackenie ~ Path Of The Horse
This week I watched a movie called The Path of the Horse (I actually watched it twice). It was about a woman by the name of Stormy May who was a horse trainer that wanted to find a better way to work with horses. She had read several books by many different horsemen from all around the world. ( Arizona - Mark Rashid, Colorado - California - Linda Kohanov ~ The Tao Of Equis & Russia ~ Alexander Nevzorov ~ Haute Ecole...to name a few). Read more

Every year I look forward to one particular celebrationof all things “equine”. The Mane Event in Chilliwack, BC! It takes effort, on my part, to get there, as we have to catch the 6:30 AM ferry that leaves from Langdale, on the Sunshine Coast, crossing Howe Sound, to reach the ferry terminal in Horseshoe Bay, in West Vancouver. How fitting, when travelling to a horse show: the first port of call is “HORSESHOE Bay”!
Tiffany Closefrom Germanysent us these fond words of why she adores horses: " I like horses because...my family had horses sinse i was littel i grew up with animals and horses. i zhink also that the horses can understand us better than dogs or cats because i use to have one and my horse knew when i was sad and alwas cheered me up and the horses were just so great for since i was little that why i love horses."
VFTH was pleased to hear from our first German Fan of Voice For The Horse! The pre-requisite for becoming a fan is to just tell us why you love horses and Tiffany Desrosiers will send you a signed photograph and the download to her new single "HIGH". Watch out Britney Spears!
from Pritchard, B.C. Canada You will be impressed to learn that Lyla took the photo on the Voice For The Horse Banner during the summer wild fires that were buring heavily just on the other side of the mountain where she lived. The horses on the web site banner had just been relocated to a 50 acre field, what excitement it was for them !!
