We are pleased to introduce you to the two equine mascots of VFTH Angel and Mischief! Both of these horses were never planned; they arrived into our lives quite spontaneously actually. Needless to say, not knowing the direction of the events that would further unfold, we embraced these two young horses knowing they needed someone to both love and care for them.
The past two years has been of expediential growth in the horse industry for us. From the pleasures of spending time riding my horse Jimmy in Campbell Park, his routine massage treatments and then coming to learn more of the hard side for many of our unwanted wanted horses, we became more intrigued to involve ourselves further. With many fundraisers under our belts and time spent helping people with their horses, it was a natural next step for VFTH Consulting to evolve and it was a given that we would soon want to expand further and promote the horses of VFTH. Both Angel and Mischief are the elected two that have signed up as the VFTH Mascots and will carry on to teach us what it is we seek to learn.
Willie:
Willie is now 25 years old and a little short on teeth, but he has been quite a sire, his most recent accomplishments include a world champion working hunter, and a filly that just won the baby green hunter championship at Thunderbird in Langley B.C. Willie is by Reds Hustler and out of Sheza Grand, he should have been a big 16 hand horse, but instead he might be lucky to make 14.2 hands. He consistantly sires size and quality, and has crossed really well on T.B. mares.
His owners loved him dearly & were very proud to stand him at stud. This year it was decided that they could no longer keep as many horses & a new stallion was moving up to take his place so he needed to be given to a new home. We have gladly taken Willie and will look after him for the rest of his years. It took a few days for him to adjust to his new surroundings but is now happily eating up all his groceries and lets everyone know this is his place.
Page :
Page is a lovely 16+ hand mare, she has had 4 foals, 3 colored and 1 solid. She has lived with Willie for many years now and it was decided that they should not be separated. Page was bought as a weanling show prospect, but she only got to show a couple of times as a yearling, and then her ankles started to give her too much grief. It turns out she suffered from a mineral deficency before she was born, and now rocks on her ankles, the left more so, but oddly enough the mare travels sound on them and they don't seem to bother her at all, they just don't look quite right. This mare has just a super disposition and is very happy living with Willie.
We invite you to meet Fraser who is featured on Kid's Corner
