Thank you for visiting our web page where we share VFTH (Voice For The Horse) Projects 2012! One thing we have always done at Voice for The Horse is not go small while at the same time recognizing also haste makes waste. When we initially started developing VFTH the concept of representing only our own back yard was never entertained. We knew from the get go where it was we needed to be and this was to represent horses across America with a focus on those whose voices were not heard where they suffered neglect and abuse and often times death, due to the care and mismanagement practices provided for them. We all know horses are big and expensive which creates more of a challenge to care for the ones who are so lucky to make it to a rescue center for rehabilitation and or adoption but people do it, and it is no easy undertaking. Our first published article back in 2009 Our Horses and the Tough Economic Times very much depicts our thoughts of the path we were set to embark upon.
Voice For The Horse has evolved into a Foundation whose focus is to represent horses in our lives today and of our past with the goal of ensuring ALL people may forever have a connection with the horse. With our online programs we are presently putting into place and our Signature Program - "A Day in the Country for Kid’s we offer for the entire family to involve themselves to learn about the horse and who they have been and are today, in our lives. The benefit of this program for children who participate will provide a most memorable experience. To learn more about the benefits of horses in the lives of our children we invite you to visit our Parent/Teacher’s Corner.
Because the nature of our work has so much to do with children’s learning through fine art projects such as our Wild Horse Writing Competition we hosted in 2011-2012, it was an automatic given to integrate music into the project hence we have set out to record and produce a song and video to be filmed in the fields of Langley, B.C. Canada with the voices of our youth, who will share their passion for our beloved equines through this special song. Click here to visit our dedicated International VFTH Theme Song where we have two of Canada’s finest you talents lending their voices in this Musical Production; 24 year old Tiffany Desrosiers and 13 year old Cole Armour, both from Langley, the Horse Capital of British Columbia, Canada.
For all this to successfully come together it is vital to have all funding in place to get the song and music video done by our target date set for completion, July 31, 2012. We will then be set to network America and beyond as our ultimate goal is to open a Chapter of VFTH in England. With the equine loving spirit of many of our British Friends, we know it may not be long before VFTH is networked into other European Countries as well.
In order for this to ALL happen, VFTH requires financial sponsorship. To get the ball rolling here, long time VFTH Sponsor Liz Mitten Ryan has offered to create an original painting of VFTH Mascot’s Angel and Mischief, where we may produce prints and offer for sale for fund generating purposes the original painting; this will not be a small time ticket item! Liz has agreed to do the painting when the finalized plans and funding is in place to get the music video completed. OK, so don’t think we are not excited here! The two horses she will be painting represent the horse from various places in our lives such as the equestrian disciplines and the show world; the pleasure horse where they often are family members; teachers of many due to their strong nature as a sentient and intelligent animal; to the world of horse rescue and neglect and the horrific world of horse slaughter, not to forget their strong symbol also of a War Horse.

(Liz and I met back in 2008 at a trade show on Vancouver Island and when she saw this picture (above) of our first adopted filly Angel with the text Voice For The Horse inscribed on it inquired about what Voice For The Horse was; well that was the very beginning of a relationship that has taken VFTH many places including up to her retreats which she most generoulsy sponsored to me over the years).
And YES !! These are the Smiling Happy Faces below Liz will be painting if we meet her challenge of accomplishing the video production of the Voice For The Horse International Theme Song!

Once we have accomplished getting the music video done we have two very special VIP’s we aspire to present our gift of song and a print of our custom painted picture donated by Liz on behalf of VFTH. WAR HORSE Film Director Steven Spielberg is one of them and the reason we are going here is he is of the belief as he suggests in his press release he put out after the launch of War Horse in theatre across America "we have lost our connection and interaction with horses due to our modern day world"; and this is true. However I Believe he would be most pleased to know there is a Foundation set in place that honors the horse which in fact Bridges the Gap Between Horse and Humans in our Modern Day World and this is precisely what we have created at VFTH. Also in mind we wish to present the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge; Prince William and Kate. The Royal Family are known to be avid lovers of the horse and we believe would be most pleased also to be informed of a program that reaches into schools and into the lives of families Internationally, where they will be able to both study and learn of the horse and also experience them too, in our Day in the Country For Kid’s Program. VFTH Ambassador Joy Richardson, in her younger years in fact has fox hunted with Prince Charles who we are certain he would recall as he had quite an affinity with Joys choice of horse she was breeding at the time.

And we are also of the thought as to why stop here when we believe there will be others most pleased to see a program such as this come about; not only for their own children to participate but that of generations to follow. Prime Minister Harper whom in fact I briefly engaged in conversation with during one of his visits to Vancouver, B.C. most certainly is another; and he very well remembered Joy when I spoke to him during his earlier days when he got involved in politics as Joy attended many of the same events as he did! And then there is President Obama; and once again I see (although not popular with many equine advocates) when it comes down to horses, our history and heritage, would no doubt agree we have something very special going on here.
Some may ask who we are to set out and do something so vast, like we are "reaching for the stars to touch the untouchables" … I dare to say "who are we not to reach for the stars and touch the untouchables?" Five years ago Voice For The Horse was but a dream … but today it is not and if there is anything of absolute value we may teach our children, it is to dream and to never ever stop to dream as this is where all great things come from. Can you image if children in our lives today began to dream their dreams and were encouraged to do so, how many amazing and wonderful things we may look forward to in ALL our futures? We ask you to give this some very serious thought and consideration!
VFTH cordially invites you to join up with us in this fun and exciting venture and be a part of this grassroots effort! If you believe in us and endorse the project, we encourage you to help us in our fundraising efforts whether through your financial sponsorship as a business or private citizen to participating in pub nights and other fundraising events we will be hosting coming up this spring in 2012.
It has been already stated the impact VFTH has the potential to make at our Inaugural Meeting Sept. 14th, 2011; with the proper support in place:
“we see the children involved in this project, we see a future with them participating for many years to come and into their adulthood where they may then introduce their children and we see a solution to bring children back to real life experiences outside of our modern day technology".
Contact us and find out how you may support VFTH Projects 2012!!
