Trustworthiness is being worthy of trust. People can count on you to do your best, to keep your word and to follow through on your commitments. You do what you say you will do. Trustworthiness is a key to success in anything you do".
Oriana entrusted in the care of Angel who ensured she was kept quite safe while in each others presense!
As we move into the fall of 2012 where we will be launching our 2nd Annual Children's International Writing Competition - Subject Rescue Horses, we could not help but put thought into our relationship with our horses. It is noted in the above image of Angel and Oriana, how clearly the close connection exists between children and horses. Oriana is not a horse girl so to speak, just a little girl who was captivated by the awe and beauty of the horse when she met Angel. It is for these very reasons of how the horse warms our hearts, and this is only one example of many, why we need to give back to them ultimate respect for all it is they do for us.
You are practicing "trustworthiness" when you:
Think before you make a promise to be sure you will able to do it.
Take responsibilities for remembering your commitments.
Keep you promises even when they become hard to do.
Abide by the rules even when no one is watching.
Let nothing stop you from keeping your word.
Do your best and finish what you start.
Affirmation
I am trustworthy. I keep my word. I am worthy of the trust others place in me.
"When we take a horse into our care it is a responsibility not to be taken lightly. There are so many factors to be wary of to include time, which horses most certainly require lots of especially if they are stabled; finances to cover veterinary costs if they become ill or get injured; the finances to pay a good farriar to keep their feet healthy and the list goes on. When we make a commitment to a horse or any other it is imperative we put into practice the virtue of trustworthiness. When we do so, we become a better person and all those around you will thrive too".
Voice For The Horse will be offering a Virtue of the Week dedicated to you and the horse. We hope you enjoy these mindful messages developed specific for horses in collaboration with the virtuesproject.com
