VFTH Fundraiser

We don't belong in an auction yard...get us out of here! Horses were placed for holding here until we found a 60 acre field donated from a resident of Barnhartvale.

Pay It Forward For Our Horses Of Tomorrow

SEPT 4, 2009 ~ VFTH is in the process of coordinating a fundraiser which will take place at the Mane Event Expo in Chilliwack Oct 23-25, 2009. At Ease Horse Care has donated a portion of their booth space on behalf of Voice For The Horse and joining them will be representatives from the B.C Interior Horse Rescue Society and the SPCA to bring up to date information on the horse rescue industry in B.C. Two of the most highly publicised horse rescues of last year was of an emaciated horse forced to pull their owners vehicle out of a ditch in Langley, B.C. while another was the joining together of the community of McBride, B.C. who dug out both Sundance and Belle to save their lives of a death of starvation with no chance on their own of survival. These were just two cases that many of our domesticated equines suffered last year and this year promises to bring on more, most cases we will never hear of. If you did hear of these rescues last year and it did leave you with the feeling of concern (what could I have done to help make a difference?) please know that You Can Make A Difference!!  Come out and visit Booth # 105 (At Ease Horse Care) at the Mane Event, purchase some tickets for our daily raffle draws of fantastic prizes and consider also to bid on some of the items in our silent auction. The need is great out there and we are confident that collectively we can make a bigger difference for all the other little Angel's & Mischief's out there. To view photos of the Pritchard Fire & Evacuation Experience scroll to bottom of page.

If you can not make it to our event contact a local registered Society for the Rescue of Horses in your area and Pay It Forward be it with your gift of feed, hay, blankets or other barn related items. The gift of financial donations is also greatly appreciated for those that are able to do so.

All proceeds from the VFTH fundraiser will be donated to the B.C. Interior Horse Rescue Society

With the generous gifts our sponsors are providing, further awareness will be created to help our equine friends in this time of economic turndown. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor to help make life better for many of our "wanted unwanted horses" this up and coming winter season which has forecasted already to be a tough one for some of these horses, contact us and we will be happy to make these arrangements with you. Minimum contribution of products & services provides sponsorship status. (Gifts certificates appreciated for the Silent Auction so as to keep down the cost of shipping. Thank You!).

The VFTH Fundraiser Sponsors up to date are:

I would like to say a special thank you to several of our sponsors and other individuals who have helped to make VFTH develop as it has today; Jeff and Calvin at Self-Edit for the ongoing sponsorship of this web site and all the extra time you have spent training me to do my own web work.  Liz Mitten Ryan for her gift of the E.A.R.T.H. It is our hope at VFTH that the Pay It Forward For Our Horses Of Tomorrow Fundraiser will be just one of the many proactive steps we need to take in order to make like better for our horses this up and coming winter that is already predicted to be a another tough one. As early as next week (September 9, 2009) Kim Stinson, President of the B.C. Interior Horse Rescue Society has said that there are already "skinny horses" out there that will be placed in there care. We wish to thank all of you that have given so graciously in support of Horses At Risk This Year. Your generous contribution has been noted as an act of Paying It Forward! For all those that contribute to the fundraiser at the Mane Event, Paying It Forward Wrist Bands will be given out while supplies last.

Looking through the eye of a Great MasterAngel, Mischief & Jimmy were  moved up to MacKenzie Meadows earlier this summer. I drove in late on the evening of August 27, 2009 to Pritchard for one of my weekly visits only to be greeted by a wild fire roaring with bright red flames reaching up into the sky. check out the story and photos below.

Oct 18, 2009 Jimmy ("My" Five Sails) chose to depart this world to join his wild and free herd up in the sky. I invite you to visit the Tribute to Five Sails)

August 28, 2009 - Early Friday Morning Evacuation is Initiated With Lyla & Chase Leading The Way
Lyla and Chase leading the way for the evacuation of the horses at Mackenzie Meadows, Pritchard. The smoke was rolling over the hillside dropping ash everywhere!
It really was a nice day out there above the smoke clouds! Okay fire, you can turn around and head off the other way any time now!
We pray all our hard work, sweat and time will still be here tomorrow. Even if this beautiful facility would be taken away from the fires Thea Mackenzie would start rebuilding it again tomorrow (quote unquote)!!
Run everybody run...we must go...Fire Fire...Mischief exclaims!! I want to go home now!
If Mischief is all tied in a know about a silly fire threat well I will be too! Say Goodbye!
