In just under two weeks all of us found our way home again. Lucky were the ones who got to go home first! Some of us were a little banged up and sore from trailering and Bart had a real bad experience with some barb wire he didn't see as he was frolicing around a new field. As unfortunate as this all was it beat the odds of staying in a fire zone that was just too close to home for comfort. The horses seem to really appreciate being back in their spaces and Jimmy is even calling for "Tea Time" as he gets back on his regular diet supplemented with his equine senior feed to help him manage through as cold of winter he will ever experience after just recently arriving from the coast. Phil had no problems putting his crew back on site to finish up completion of the 20 stall addition...Tractor was no where to be found!

Our property up on Martin Prairie Road was still there too, a beautiful site to see!

This experience has been most rewarding, thank you for sharing with us. Demonstrating what the important things in life were to this family, the MacKenzies with the horses being their #1 priority, just blew us away for no better words! The neighbors that showed up (some that were known of just vagely) to check in to be of assistance if needed be; the heros that showed up with stock trailers out of no where to assist those that did not have the neccesary travel arrangements made for their horses (who does in this kind of situation?) you are all Angel's! It was not only the town of Pritchard that experienced this concern for their neighbors as other communities in the area were also faced with the same situation, all of which I am sure were dealt with swiftly to ensure all were safe from the farm stock, horses, pets and families alike. |
